Today, more and more clients are beginning to request videos created with AI.
As a filmmaker and video creator, I have been in this industry for over ten years. The reason I chose this career in the first place was simple: I love filming, and I love creating through the lens of a camera. Now that AI has become such a dominant force, I often find myself wondering whether I should follow the trend and fully enter the world of AI-generated video.
When considering a complete shift toward AI creation, I cannot help but ask myself whether it would betray the passion and purpose that first led me into this industry. AI undoubtedly offers incredible convenience and efficiency. Yet when I sit in front of a computer, typing a few prompts on a keyboard and letting AI generate the content, it often feels strange and disconnected. Sometimes it does not even feel like my creation—it feels like AI's creation. As a creator, my role seems to shift from being an artist to becoming someone who simply operates the tool.
At the same time, we cannot cling too tightly to old ideas when the world is changing. History has shown us this repeatedly. During the Industrial Revolution, machines replaced much of manual labor. During the Internet Revolution, digital networks transformed and, in many cases, replaced traditional media. Now, the AI Revolution is beginning to reshape countless industries, including photography and video production.
What I find particularly challenging about AI video creation is the process itself. It often involves continuously generating variations, rewriting prompts, and trying again and again until the AI produces the desired result. As someone who comes from a traditional filmmaking background, this process feels very different from the creative experience I have always enjoyed. To me, it often feels like much of the joy of creation has been lost.
Today, whenever I browse social media, I see an overwhelming amount of AI-generated content. Many of these videos rely on exaggerated or sensational visuals to attract attention, gain followers, and generate profit. Personally, I do not believe this is a healthy direction.
A significant number of AI-generated videos can be highly misleading and detached from reality. For people who consume such content regularly, this may have unhealthy effects on their thinking and perception of the world. The problem is that many viewers do not have the ability to distinguish AI-generated content from real footage. As AI becomes increasingly realistic, many people naturally assume what they are seeing is genuine. This raises serious concerns about authenticity, trust, and the way information is consumed.
Every revolution requires time for society to understand its impact. It takes experimentation, mistakes, corrections, and continuous adaptation before a new technology finds its proper place.
For now, all we can do is continue watching how this era unfolds and see where the future takes us.
